Over the weekend of 17th/18th June 2017, the second Peregrini Heritage Festival will be taking place on Holy Island. There will be exhibitions on project work, guided walks and talks, and arts activities. The heritage skills programme will also include pottery-making and firing, wool-preparation, dyeing and spinning, green wood whittling, wood-turning using a pole-lathe, bread-making, metal smithing & jewellery making.

1pm Voices of the Sea – Katrina Porteous, with musical accompaniement from Alice Burns, at the Old Lifeboat House (lasts 50 minutes).
2pm Flora and fauna of Holy Island – Join Ian Kerr, Holy Island resident and learn about the flora and fauna of this special place. Meet at the Window on Wild Lindisfarne, Harbour Road.
2pm The Lost Buildings of Lindisfarne – Community Archaeologist John Woodhurst leads a walk looking at places past on Lindisfarne. Meet at the Window on Wild Lindisfarne, Harbour Road.

4pm Fire and Ice on Holy Island – Community Geology group member Peter Slater leads a geology walk in and around Holy Island village.
