  • Museum opening 23/04/2016

    Berwick Museum & Art Gallery is now open for the new season on Wednesdays-Saturdays, 11-5, and Sundays 11-4. During the summer holidays (25 July – 4 September) it will change to opening 7 days a week.

    From the end of April a new exhibition of contemporary Swedish crafts from Gothenburg will be on show.

  • Free guided walks 07/04/2016

    Linda Bankier will be leading two guided walks in Berwick on Friday 15 April and Sunday 17 April 2016.  Free, but booking essential.

    Friday 15 April:  Georgian Berwick—A walk along Ravensdowne and Quay Walls, where the well-to-do lived,  starting at 2.30pm.

    Sunday 17 April: Greenses Arabs and Fish Tales—An historical walk around the High and Low Greens starting at 2.30pm.

  • Family History Day 29/03/2016

    On Saturday 16 April 2016, as the Our Families project of Berwick 900 draws to a close, a Family History Day will be held in the Town Hall, Berwick, from 10am until 4pm. There will be displays, talks, children’s activities, a performance by Berwick Youth Theatre – and an opportunity to book a session with a Family History expert to talk about your own research.  Free admission.  All welcome.

  • Wilson’s Women 20/03/2016

    On Sunday 27 March 2016, the Wilson’s Tales Project will present three dramatized tales in a performance entitled “Wilson’s Women: Heroines & Harlots”. They will take place at The Watchtower at 8.00pm, with tickets on sale at The Maltings at £8.00.

    The stories which will be performed are “Kate Kennedy”, “Grizzel Cochrane: A Tale of Tweedmouth Muir”, and “The Guidewife of Coldingham”.

  • Science Day at the Museum 18/03/2016

    On Saturday 19th March, as part of British Science Week, Berwick Museum will be hosting a free event called “Light on the Rocks”, a day of family activities suitable for children over 7. It will be attended by Dr Tom Challands of Edinburgh University, who will be bringing his fossil preparation kit with him – a big hit last year. Join him to explore the Museum’s rock and fossil collections.  And Jenny Docherty will be demonstrating how to make a kaleidoscope.  11.00 – 3.30pmm
