  • Heritage Open Days 01/09/2024

    Berwick’s Heritage Open Days for 2024 take place between the 6th and 15th September.  This year there are 75 locations or events to go to, plus another 19 online talks, tours, films or quizzes.  Some need to be booked in advance (via Eventbrite), others can be visited throughout their opening hours, and all of them are free. The greatest number of events will be taking place on the weekend of 14-15 September, including a photographic exhibition in the Town Hall.

  • Berwick Bridge 400 01/08/2024

    On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2024, there will be a weekend of celebrations to mark the 400th Anniversary of Berwick bridge. Events will take place on the Quayside Berwick and Tweedmouth and various locations around the Town, and they will include: Re-enactments; Live theatre; Stalls; Live music; King James Games; 
    Craft classes; Face painting; Artist in residency workshops; Exhibitions; RNLI.  More details below.

  • Cornhill coffee morning 01/08/2024

    On Friday 2nd August 2024 a coffee morning will be held in Cornhill Village Hall from 10.30 to 12.00. It is organised by Border Links and the proceeds from this event will be donated to FBDMA. See the poster below for further details.

    With the start of the school holidays, Berwick Museum & Art Gallery is open 7 days per week, continuing until 1st September 2024.  Opening hours are 10am – 4.00pm.

  • Manorial documents 24/05/2024

    During June 2024 there are three events taking place which relate to the Manorial Documents project. To reserve places at any of these events, send an email to berwickarchives@northumberland.gov.uk .  There is no charge.

    Firstly, two practical workshops are being held at the Cheviot Centre in Wooler:

    Saturday 15th June, 10.00am-12.30pm. Introduction to Manors and Manorial Documents.  Discover the main uses of these documents and how to locate key information.

    Saturday 22nd June, 10.00am-12.30pm. Manorial Documents and how to read them.  Learn to read documents from as early as the 17th century.
