This year’s Berwick Literary Festival is taking place between 12th and 15th of October 2023. The Record Office will be participating in one of the many events, “Star of the Sea: Writing Your Family History”, on Friday 13th October, 2.00-4.00pm, in the Parish Centre, Berwick.
“Have you ever wanted to bring the hidden stories of your family to life? In this session archivist Linda Bankier and historical novelist Katharine Tiernan will be looking at ways of bringing family history to life. The session will focus both on practical resources for exploring your family’s history and on how to make creative use of your material. Katharine will read from her novel, “Star of the Sea”, based on her research into the 18th century history of her family, and Linda will end the session with a visit to the Berwick archives.”
