  • Literary Festival 09/10/2016

    Berwick Literary Festival takes place from 20th to 23rd October 2016. One of the numerous events on offer is a talk by archivist Linda Bankier entitled *Hidden Treasures and Inspiration – Tales from Berwick Archives”.  It takes place at 12 noon on Friday 21st October in the Holy Trinity Parish Centre. Tickets £5, available from The Maltings.

  • Record Office move 30/06/2016

    From Wednesday 6 July 2016, the Record Office will be open to the public in its new accommodation in the refurbished Walkergate building – on the first floor alongside Berwick Library. 

    The opening hours remain the same:  Wednesday & Thursday, 9.30-1.00 and 2.00-5.00.

    Anyone who wishes to consult original documents should contact the Record Office in advance to order the materials and to make an appointment.

    There will be free wi-fi available in the new premises.

  • Armed Forces Day 22/06/2016

    Saturday 25 June is Armed Forces Day, and the Record Office is putting on a display about Berwick in 1916. In the Townhall, Berwick, between 10am and 1pm.  Admission free.

  • Cocklawburn event 03/06/2016

    On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June 2016, as part of the Peregrini Project community dig at the Cocklawburn 19th century industrial settlement, Linda Bankier will be at the site between 1.00pm and 4.00pm on each day to show visitors some of the information that has been gathered about former residents of the area, and to answer questions about the interpretation of the project.
