    On Monday 13 November 2017 Lowick Heritage Group will present a talk on “The Bridges of the Lower Tweed”, given by Berwick Archivist Linda Bankier. It will take place in Lowick Village Hall starting at 7.30pm.  (Visitors £2).

  • A Kind of Justice 04/10/2017

    On Friday 20 October 2017, as part of Berwick Literary Festival, Linda Bankier and Colin Fleetwood will be presenting a performance of a radio play, illustrating the use of archives for inspiring drama. The play, A Kind of Justice, by Colin Fleetwood will be receiving its world premiere, and it will combine elements of recorded performance and live presentation.  

    The performance takes place in the Holy Trinity Parish Centre (The Parade) at 10.00 – 11.15am and (contrary to what is said in the Festival leaflet) admission is FREE.  After the performance spectators are invited to adjourn to the Record Office to look...

  • Facades of the 50s 17/08/2017

    As part of Heritage Open days 2017, Berwick Record Office is organising an exhibition of photographs, documents and films about Berwick in the 1950s, in the Guildhall on Saturday 9th September (10.00am to 4.00pm) and Sunday 10th September (11.00am to 4.00pm).

    Admission free.  Refreshments available.

  • Record Office users 19/05/2017

    From 1st June 2017, all users of the Record Office will need to register for a CARN card (County Archive Research Network – a national scheme run by the Archives and Records Association). This means that on your next visit to the Record Office you should bring with you some proof of identity showing your name, permanent address, and signature.  Acceptable forms of identification are as follows:

    Driving licence (name, address and signature)
