  • Family photographs 30/06/2025

    An exhibition on the history of photography in Berwick is being prepared by Cameron Robertson, to open at the Granary Gallery in October 2025.  He is hoping to include photographs from family collections – these could be portraits taken in studios in the town, snapshots, or anything relating to Berwick, Tweedmouth and Spittal in the period 1840-1980.

    A Drop-In event is being held on Saturday 5th July, 10.30 – 12.30, in Berwick Record Office, where you can find out about the exhibition, share some of your own photos, and see some of the images in the collections.  Cameron will be on hand with a scanner to digitise any...

  • Holy Trinity School 29/05/2025

    Did you go to Holy Trinity School or the Parade School?  On Saturday 14 June 2025 from 10.00am until 12 noon there will be a ‘Drop In’ event at Holy Trinity First School (which is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year).  Please come along and share your memories and any photographs with each other and with the staff of Berwick Record Office who are organising the event.  Memories from c.1980 to 2010 will be especially welcome.

  • Riding of the Bounds 18/04/2025

    To coincide with Berwick’s Riding of the Bounds 2025, on Saturday 3rd May there will be a free exhibition on the history of the ceremony presented in the Record Office (in the Library, Walkergate, Berwick), from 10am until 4pm.

  • Bridging the Tweed 22/03/2025

    On Friday 28 March 2025, 10.00am-12.00 noon, a lecture on “Bridging the Tweed” will be given by Linda Bankier, Berwick Archivist, in the William Elder Building (Castlegate, Berwick) as part of a series organised by Berwick Educational Association.

    Bridges are an integral part of our landscape, helping us to cross rivers and other obstacles on journeys from A to B.   • Spring Lecture and AGM 15/02/2025

    The FBDMA Spring Lecture will take place on Friday 21 March 2025, at 7.00pm in the Parish Centre (Parade, Berwick).  Linda Bankier will speak about “Policing the Borough of Berwick (1836-1900)”.  The lecture will be preceded by a short Annual General Meeting.  Refreshments will be served.  All welcome.
