  • Wilson’s Women 20/03/2016

    On Sunday 27 March 2016, the Wilson’s Tales Project will present three dramatized tales in a performance entitled “Wilson’s Women: Heroines & Harlots”. They will take place at The Watchtower at 8.00pm, with tickets on sale at The Maltings at £8.00.

    The stories which will be performed are “Kate Kennedy”, “Grizzel Cochrane: A Tale of Tweedmouth Muir”, and “The Guidewife of Coldingham”.

  • Science Day at the Museum 18/03/2016

    On Saturday 19th March, as part of British Science Week, Berwick Museum will be hosting a free event called “Light on the Rocks”, a day of family activities suitable for children over 7. It will be attended by Dr Tom Challands of Edinburgh University, who will be bringing his fossil preparation kit with him – a big hit last year. Join him to explore the Museum’s rock and fossil collections.  And Jenny Docherty will be demonstrating how to make a kaleidoscope.  11.00 – 3.30pmm

  • Net Fishing 09/03/2016

    A talk entitled “Kelt Fishcakes and Gilse: Net Fishing on the Tweed”, given by Martha Andrews and Jim Gibson, will be the Spring Lecture accompanying the Annual General Meeting of the Friends on Friday 18th March 2016. The AGM will begin at 7.00pm, in the Parish Centre (The Parade, Berwick), and after refreshments (around 7.30pm) the talk will follow.

  • Peregrini Lindisfarne volunteers 06/03/2016

    A volunteer conference on the Peregrini Lindisfarne Landscape Partnership is being held on Saturday 12 March 2016, in two sessions: 10.00am – 12 noon, or 1.00 – 3.00pm. It will describe the opportunities for volunteering in the Community, Geology, Archaeology, and Archive projects. Linda Bankier will be there to talk about the Archive project.

  • Spittal Point 28/02/2016

    A tour of Spittal Point is being organised on the afternoon of Saturday 12 March 2016 by Sander Van Raemdonck, currently Artist In Residence in Berwick.  He says of the event, “During my stay in Berwick as artist in residence  and a visitor to the town essentially, I became interested in the proposed development of Spittal Point. I feel that it symbolises the struggle with our desires to maintain a rural picturesque and a qualitative nature, while expanding our infrastructural environment and while building for the future.
