Berwick’s Heritage Open Days are taking place this year between Friday 11th and Sunday 20th September 2020 – but with a difference. Most of the events will take place online. There will be virtual tours, live talks, quizzes, and Question Time sessions, all of which can be enjoyed from home. There will also be self-guided walks to discover different aspects of Berwick’s history, using guides which can be downloaded or followed online. Friday 3rd July 2020 will be the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Berwick Record Office. Congratulations to all concerned! If it is sad that this takes place when the Record Office is in enforced shutdown and the events which would have celebrated it have had to be put off, that does not lessen what has been achieved in the last 40 years to build up the collections and to provide a vital information hub for local history.
