As part of the Berwick Literary Festival on 16 October 2022, at 4.30pm, Elizabeth Wilson will be in conversation with Linda Bankier about the book, The Memoirs of Jock Wilson: A Berwick Boyhood Between the Wars. They will talk about the process by which the book came into being and the role of archives and other source materials. The talk will take place in Holy Trinity Parish Church and is scheduled to last for one hour. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought through the Festival website.

The Border Archaeology Society holds its 25th anniversary lecture on Monday 5 September 2022. Steven Collison will speak about “Berwick Infirmary excavations: footsteps through a mediaeval town”, reviewing the discoveries from the recent work on the Infirmary site and what they reveal about mediaeval Berwick. The lecture begins at 7.30pm in Berwick Guildhall. Admisstion is free, donations welcome.

A presentation to Berwick Civic Society on the Historic Towns Trust and their plans to collaborate on the creation of a historic map of Berwick will be given by Dr Julian Munby, former Head of Buildings at Oxford Archaeology, on Wednesday 13 April 2022 in the Parish Centre. Our Spring Lecture, “The Archives of the Duke of Northumberland at Alnwick Castle”, will be given on Friday 25th March 2022 by Christopher Hunwick.
